Supported Controller

Any concerns over replacing my Marvell AOC controllers with one of the Adaptec 52445 controllers?

I'm getting one given to me and I've been experiencing issues with my current controllers. I've been advised that the Marvell controllers are buggy with unRAID.

Am I letting myself into a bigger can of worms with this guy? :)

I know it's only 3Gbps, but speed I'm not worried about...

That does not appear to be able to be used as an HBA with IT mode, only RAID. So, even if unraid recognizes it, you won't be able to add any previously used disks without erasing them, and any disks you initialize and add to that controller will then not be able to be used on a regular controller and be read properly until reformatted.

I would stay FAR away unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Stick with the recommended LSI controllers.

Fair enough, thanks so much!
