July 25, 20187 yr I have the Nerd Pack installed and I don't remember why I installed it. When looking at it it says "tmux 2.5-x86_64-1txz and utemper1.1.6-x86_64-2.txz" are part of the Preclear Disk. However "mcelog-153-x86_64-1txz and perl-5.26.1-x86_64-4.txz" don't say they anything under Plugins, are set to on and there is an update ready. My question is do I need them or should I uninstall them? If I do need them should I update them? Do I even need the Nerd Pack anymore? I just run dockers and a few plugins. Thanks
July 25, 20187 yr When you install nerdpack, you are only making it possible to install the things included. It doesn't automatically install anything. If you do much ssh or telnet stuff, you'll likely want utempter and screen installed, to allow background processing to continue even if the ssh or telnet session terminates. But if you don't do any geeky stuff, you may not need it. I am agreed that unnecessary software is better removed, but if you decide to keep it, it should be updated.
July 25, 20187 yr Author Ok I was using telnet before but now I just use (cyberduck) so I shouldn’t need any other that then right. Thanks Edited July 25, 20187 yr by squirrellydw
