using hdd in another case?

i tried to search but couldnt find what i was looking for. i currently have a lenovo s30 as a vm server/nas. my issue is that the case does not accommodate more then 3 hdd and i was wanting to add more to my array. i think that the motherboard it also a proprietary layout so i dont think i can get a larger case. but my gaming pc is in a fractal design r6 case and has a ton of room for more drives and is right next to the server. my question is, is their a way to put the hdd's in my gaming case but have them part of the array in the s30?
