emsbas
Hello UnRaid team, I wanted to see if there is a way I can perform some sort of network prioritization. So my goal is-- I have 3 Network cards installed in my UnRaid server and setup in this order ETH0- 1GB Intel Nic ETH1- 1GB Intel Nic ETH2- 10GB Mellanox I would like to make my mellanox card ETH0 or Primary Nic and then fail over to the other nics ??? Any ideas? Link to comment
bonienl
Internet access of the system runs via eth0. Are you sure your 10G link can be used to access the Internet? Show us a drawing of your network and how the system is connected. Link to comment
JorgeB
Most use 10GbE peer to peer, i.e., just from one desktop to the Unraid server, and in that case 1GB remains the main network, you can force the desktop using 10GbE by connecting to the IP address (on a different subnet than the 1GB NIC) or for example by editing the hosts file on the desktop. emsbas
Yes the 10GB has internet access I am currently using it all I have done is disconnect the other two network ports Link to comment
emsbas
But I would still like to keep the redundancy of having them configured. As well how would I configure this if for say I wanted to put one NIC on the Web (Via Static IP) and 1 NIC on the LAN Link to comment
bonienl
Normally redundancy is done by making a bonded interface. This allows multiple interfaces to act as one. The default "active-standby" mode is most appropriate. The management interface of the system has to be eth0, if you like your 10G link to be eth0 then change this in Settings -> Network Settings -> Interface Rules Link to comment
