ashman70
One of my servers has 29 drives, so 28 data and 1 parity and I need to reduce that to a total of 24 drives including parity. It is my understanding that I would perform the following steps to achieve this. 1.Begin my moving data off the drive with the least used space to other drives. 2.Once a drive is emptied, remove it from the array and do a new config and then remove the physical drive. 3.Repeat cycle until I am only using 24 physical drives. Questions: Do I need to do a parity sync each time a do a new config, or can it wait until I have achieved 24 drives? Am I missing anything? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
If you remove all the drives at the same time you just need one new config (and one sync), if not a parity sync is required after any new config. Quote Link to comment
