ruppmeister
I built an unRAID server for a friend that was working for a number of months. Recently, it stopped being accessible by GUI with a "This site can't be reached". I am able to ssh into the server without issue but I'm not familiar enough with the back-end to know what to look for and get things back up. I have attached a diagnostic zip. Combing through it I don't notice anything out of place, but then again, not really sure what I should be looking for. Any suggestions at this point? Thanks! tower-diagnostics-20171110-1338.zip Link to comment
Squid
What is the output of ethtool eth0 Its very conspicuously missing from the diagnostics Link to comment
ruppmeister
Thanks, Squid. Odd that is wasn't in the zip since I didn't change anything about it, however, here is the output: root@Tower:~# ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Supported pause frame use: No Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Full Advertised pause frame use: No Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Speed: 100Mb/s Duplex: Full Port: Twisted Pair PHYAD: 1 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on MDI-X: on (auto) Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Current message level: 0x00000007 (7) drv probe link Link detected: yes root@Tower:~# Link to comment
Squid
Just now, ruppmeister said: Speed: 100Mb/s ^^ Possibly part of the issue. If you're not using a retro network, then you've got a bad port, bad switch, bad cable. Link to comment
ruppmeister
I saw that too, but not sure that is the problem exactly either. I moved the server from friends house to mine and have it hooked to my home network now with know good cable and switch port at 1000Mb/s. Also, I can ping the server steady without packet lose and I can ssh to it without any drop outs. Last, I tried to boot into safe mode with GUI and the GUI pointing to localhost still does not come up when I hook a monitor up to the server. Anything more you can think for me to check? trurl
Speed 100 almost certainly means something has degraded the connection to 100 instead of 1000. A bad connection on a single pin somewhere will make this happen. Link to comment
