Cabinet rackmounts

Featured Replies

Hi I am thinking about diving into my second unraid server and any feedback/suggestions would be appreciated.

My current Unraid server is in  this rackmount case, and looking to get another one:

With the second one, its going to be too noisy for the guest room, so i was thinking of putting a small 12 or 15 server cabinet in our storage room (in garage)

I am looking at the cheapest possible options, but wouldnt mind spending 300-400 dollars for the cabinet if someone her is happy with one they have purchased.

I am currently looking at this one: http://sewelldirect.com/intellinet-12u-19-server-rack-cabinet-wall.asp?

Thanks

Mark

this is an excellent rack server, I use a rebranded version of the very one. I do wish they made it out of aluminum, since the steel is so heavy when fully populated.

Unless you're sure you want to buy new, I'd spend some time looking on ebay.  I purchased my used full height 19" rackmount case from a reseller and saved myself shipping costs by picking up the unit at his site in NJ.

I was looking around Ebay, but couldnt find alot for the smaller size that i wanted.

Melch, can you confirm that the link i posted above was what you recommend? Or did you just forget to link :)

Thanks for your feedback guys!

on question on rackmount cases: Many of the ones I've looked at seem to not use a standard ATX p/s but the PS2 format, which, unless I've missed it, limits you to around 250 or 300 watts of power. If you got lots of drives, won't that be overtasked?

Thanks for the info
