What constitutes an attached storage device

Featured Replies

I have a server with 2 HDDs, 2 SSDs (one SATA one NVMe), and the unRAID Boot USB. This would mean in theory I could use a basic key as I only have 4/6 "Attached Storage Devices". However I also have a DVD drive, SD Card reader, and an additional USB stick sometimes plugged in. These devices show up under unRAID, but they're not physical drives. Would these devices count towards the total? Here's what my System Devices tab looks like:

Not sure about the card reader, but the DVD definitely does.

Pretty sure optical drives don't count, card readers (if empty) shouldn't don't count either, but not sure if it was ever fixed, extra flash drives other than the boot flash drive do count.
