blaine07
I have a drive that inadvertently got take down while hot in system as a disk in the array. I powered down, moved some drives around and replaced in array. I put it back in system(it’s NOT in array), formatted it and now getting “reallocated sector count” SMART error starts . Is this because of the drive getting unplugged hot or is it harmonious with imminent drive failure? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
It's not because being unplugged, but it doesn't look very good, run an extended SMART test. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Depends on the drive size, it will say the approximate time on the SMART report. Quote Link to comment

Guess I’ll just toss it then. How long do you think I could trust it as a “unassigned device” temporarily or is it literally disaster in the making, NOW? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Depends on the use you intend, but a disk that can't return the written data without errors is usually not of much use. 1 Quote Link to comment
