Parity Errors..

Featured Replies

Hey all!

So check those pictures below; just did a parity-check and it said it found 17058 errors on the dashboard however no errors on the main array screen. It passed the smart test and tells me that the parity is good & healthy?

I should be worried about this?  I was planning on swapping the 8tb drive with a 10tb tonight and adding the 8tb to the array however now I don't know?

Also doing that (swapping the parity), I should do a pre-clear on both drives and if so, what is the right process for doing that?

Any help would be appreciated and let me know if you need any more information! :)

Adding the diagnostics logs...

Sync errors and disk errors are different things, if there was an unclean shutdown before the check a few sync errors are normal, if not they are not, for normal usage the only acceptable number of sync errors is 0.

Ahh, so those "sync" errors are the parity-check errors then correct?

They mean parity was out of sync with the array, a correcting check should be run, if it wasn't already, and the next ones should result in 0 errors.
