March 30, 20197 yr Hello everybody The following text was created with Google Translator because my German to English is not the best. For a few days, my system has not behaved at two points as it should. However, no changes have been made to the system and so far it has been exactly what it should. 1.) Disk spindown Unraid is set for me so that after an hour of HDD inactivity the hard drives shut down. This has not been a problem and has worked great. Recently, however, the discs are no longer down, although no accesses take place. If I manually shut down the disks, they will remain offline until the next access occurs (for example, the mover every day at 6 pm or the PLEX database once a week). After that, however, the disc will stay on. I have no idea why this could be because I have already checked all possible settings and can not find a mistake. 2.) md_write_method It seems that the turbo write on my system is not working properly, which also worked well until recently. Although the md_write_method value is Auto and the CA Auto Turbo Write Mode plug-in is enabled. Although even as described in 1.) all disc are constantly active, I have to activate the Turbo Write manually (Disk Settings / reconstruct write). If I reset the value to Auto, there seems to be no change. I suspect that these two problems are related together. However, I do not know where to start to solve the problem. My diagnostics file is attached. greetings Gorosch datenschleuder-diagnostics-20190330-1519.zip Edited March 30, 20197 yr by Gorosch
April 3, 20197 yr A1 : You set individual disk "never" spindown, common setting was set to "default" ( diskSpindownDelay.0="-1" ), then globally set in "disk settings" page. disk.cfg diskSpindownDelay.0="0" diskSpindownDelay.1="0" diskSpindownDelay.2="0" ..... A2 : How turbo write not working properly ? If want enable turbo write, md_write_method must set to "reconstruct write" not "Auto" Edited April 3, 20197 yr by Benson
April 4, 20197 yr Author Thank you. That was the Problem with A1. I have not checked these settings, since no changes have been made by me. I don't know why the value "never" was here instead of "default". But now, the disk spin down. Thank you!
