So ill be upgrading my server at this weekend.

 

Is there anything i need to do?

 

I thought about:

 

Disable all auto starts (VM, Scripts (user scripts))

Stop Server

Change CPU/MB/RAM

Switch USB

Plug all hdds/ssds to new mainboard

start - check if vm and scripts start and be good?

 

Anything i forget?

If you have any passed through hardware to your VM's, verify iommu groups and addresses.

Nope. I dont have or plan to do so.

One thing i nearly forgot, i will do a picture of my hdds arrangement incase it gets lost! :) (not again)

For future refenence, one thing i missed was setting the "old" mac adress in unraid. Thats not needed on all network situations, but for me it make my unraid server look to my network like my old main rig. WHich was a complete mess and unraid also got wrong ip adress. 

 

Next time first set the current mac adress manual in the config:
