July 17, 200718 yr Before I start copying stuff over to my brand spanking new UnRaid server, can I ask just how thorough the integration of user shares is? For example, if I have a "videos" folder on drive1 and drive2, a "CSI" subfolder under "videos" on both drives, a "season 6" subfolder under "CSI" on drive1, a "season 7" subfolder under "CSI" on drive2, will my Media Center PC see a "videos" folder with a "CSI" folder inside it, with two folders "season 6" and "season 7" inside the "CSI" folder? Or will the Media Center somehow see two CSI folders? Also, if I have folders videos/CSI/season 6 on drive1 and videos/24/season 6 on drive2, the Media Center won't just see one season 6 folder with CSI and 24 episodes jumbled in it together, will it? I'm asking because that's apparently what happens with Netgear's NAS box.... Thanks....
July 17, 200718 yr Pretty sure it will work as you desire. You should end up with a user share for "videos" containing two folders, one for "CSI", the other for "24", each of those with their respective sub-folders and media files: videos/CSI/season6/episode media files... videos/CSI/season7/episode media files... videos/24/season6/episode media files...
July 17, 200718 yr easy way to test, without moving loads of data, just create the above mentioned directories (videos\CSI on 2 drives with season 1 and season 2 under it, videos\24 on one drive, season 1 under it.) Re-scan your user shares and then look at the shares and see what they show. You might also copy a few small files to each directory (different ones to each of the season 1 folders) and that way you can verify how it's working.
