If I change my mobo, will unraid need to reformate the array (ie, lose all data?

pretty much the title says. I'm thinking of upgrading to the mobo (and promise cards) used in the MD1500 servers, but I already have alot of data on my current unraid array. Can I migrate to the new hardware and keep the data? I have more data to add, and if I won't be able to migrate, I'd like to not waste the time adding more to the array. Thx-

Just set up your drives as they were before in the devices settings, or at least the parity drive and run a parity check. I don't think

you have to run the parity check, but I do just to keep things nice and clean. I'm sure someone with more savy than I with unRaid

can give you a more detailed explanation.

It should work with no issues. just make sure you note the assignments of your current system, print out the devices page so you can see what serial number is assigned to what unraid device number. set it up the same and it shouldn't notice the difference.
