August 7, 20196 yr i been trying to get raid to work for 4 days! it refuses to work no matter what i do. i tried Static IP, Automatic IP, bridging enable and disable, bonding, not bonding, ifconfig eth0 up, jamming the cord in the port, running in a vm, running on a labtop, running on multiple flashdrives, connecting to different routers. Please help me, I just want to get the trial key but internet is more important.

August 8, 20196 yr Delete config/network.cfg from the flash drive so it can use the default. Are you sure you have a router with DHCP connected by ethernet? Wifi isn't supported. A laptop isn't really the recommended platform for Unraid. Unraid is a NAS OS that can also host dockers and VMs.

I have a LinkSys router and xfinity router (low firewall settings) both set with DHCP enabled. johnnie.black mentioned about link detection: no could that be an issue? or should i not block port 113? Edited August 8, 20196 yr by NinetailsKurama added what firewall ports are block
August 8, 20196 yr No link is being detect on the NIC, it will never work like that, it's either a Router/switch, cable or NIC problem.
August 8, 20196 yr Author Thank you both for your help I was able to finally get it to work in VM Workstation Pro by creating a VM with an ESXi host. Here's the link if anyone wants to try this https://www.ostricher.com/2012/09/setting-up-unraid-vm/ Thank you Again
August 9, 20196 yr Were you intending to run Unraid in a VM? I don't think you mentioned that. There is a subforum here for that. I can move this thread there if appropriate.
August 9, 20196 yr Author oh yes that was the initial intent but i couldn't get it to work there either so i moved to my labtop. please move the thread if you feel it is appropriate and i apologize for any confusion
