Hi All, 

I have just discovered UnRaid. I have some basic questions.

1.Can i install the OS directly without using a VM? is it ok?

    Yes that is the best way. But the question is a little unclear. Suggest you read some of the information on the Product pages to get some overview. Then you will be able to ask better questions.

    Not sure what question you are asking.    UnRAID boots off a USB stick and once loaded runs from RAM so there is no ‘install’ phase in the normal sense.  VMs for running other OS are an optional feature.
