Eddache
Hi, so far I havent found an answer to this and I'm hoping you can help. I currently have 2x8TB disks and 1x3TB and I'm crazy so have no parity drive (but mostly because I'd need at least an 8TB disk and right now I dont have £220 to spend on something that will only be useful if something goes wrong. I do intend to sort that at some point and all my critical data is backed up elsewhere as well ). Is there a way to stop unraid using the 3TB harddrive and move the data off it onto the larger ones, so I can replace it with a larger one? I think it can be done through a parity rebuild on the new hdd but can it be done without the parity? Thanks in advance, sorry if I've missed the answer somewhere else. Quote Link to comment
BRiT
You have no parity so you can not rebuild. You need to manually manage this. Quote Link to comment
Eddache
Thanks, and how pray tell do I accomplish this manually? I have found how to see what is on the disk itself and not just the array but have not seen an option to move it. Quote Link to comment
Spies
You need to use the unbalance plugin to move the data off that disk so that it's empty. 1 Quote Link to comment
