December 12, 20196 yr Hi All, I am running firmware version 6.7.2 and I have drive 4 with a red x this morning. I have since completed a SMART report and it passed. I've attached the smart report 187 Reported uncorrect at 1 count @ 9923 hours use its a seagate ironwolf pro so im surprised what ya recon, am I safe to rebuild the drive? or rma currently dumping contents onto networked drive Regards tower-smart-20191212-2115.zip
December 13, 20196 yr Community Expert Diags are after reboot so we can't see what happened, disk looks mostly OK, but the extended test didn't finish, you should run it again, if OK rebuild on top, before doing I would swap/replace cables just to rule them out if it fails again.
December 13, 20196 yr Author Thankyou Johnnie and Doh i always forget to grab Diags before rebooting, Running extended test now got another drive on order arrving tomorrow gonna throw that in and pre clear Can i pre clear a new drive and rebuild at same time onto the drive which errored ? December 13, 20196 yr Community Expert Should be fine, as long as the preclear plugin still allows for array start/stop during a clear.
December 14, 20196 yr Author Drive passed extended test and just finished rebuilding, gonna run parity check now
December 15, 20196 yr Community Expert Can't see the reallocated sector value, and while never a good sign a low value can be OK, if it remains stable, same for reported uncorrectable.
