Is 2 GB with unRAID a mistake?

Featured Replies

I ordered an ASUS P5B-VM DO motherboard today, with 2 x 1GB matching RAM. Then I noticed that unRAID only supports 1 GB. Am I to assume that the additional 1 GB will simply be ignored by unRAID, or will having 2 GB in the server actually cause problems?

Yes, currently linux build we're using only supports up to 1G (actually a bit less).  There shouldn't be any reason why we couldn't turn on so-called "high memory" support, other than time it would take us to thoroughly test the unraid driver.  No harm in having more, it just won't get used  :(
