Spies
I have a Define R5 which is full of drives, I can replace smaller capacity drives with larger to get an increase in space, however is there any way to use a 9212-4i4e to use an external enclosure of some description with unraid and add those individual drives to the array? Decto
Yes, you can buy a SAS external, however they are now somewhat rare and can be relatively expensive. Silverstone TS431S (4x 3.5") Silverstone TS421S (4x 2.5") Stardom Sohotank ST4-U5 (4x 2.5"/3.5") I have a TS431S and ST4-U5, both work great. with Dell H200E flashed to IT mode. Alternatively you can build your own SAS JBOD enclosure with an PC case and a bracket https://www.ebay.com/c/1548462272 You need a PSU in the case and someway to trigger it, such as the https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-ATX-Power-Supply-PSU-Jumper-Bridge-Tool-24-Pin-PSUBRIDGE24P-Plsatic-1pc/282601506340?hash=item41cc5cc624:g:zlUAAOSwlFJZhTp~ 1 Quote Link to comment
