Good morning, everyone,

I have a problem with my UNRAID server and I will need your knowledge! 🙂

Briefly, my server is in a case, with two ethernet ports :
- one on the motherboard connected to a 100 Mbps router (eth0 in UNRAID)
- and one on an external pci card connected to my computer at 1 Gbps (eth1 in UNRAID).

The connection to the router allows me to access the NAS on the local network, but is limited to 100 Mbps, while the direct connection (which I use 90% of the time) at 1 Gbps should serve me in my daily life.

I tried different settings (bonding), but I can't configure it properly.

Do you know how I can tell UNRAID :
- if the computer is directly connected, to use that connection (eth1, 1Gbps)...
- otherwise use the slower network connection (Wifi, 100Mbps) ?

From what I see, eth0 is on ip 192.168.0.25, which is what the Finder (macOS Catalina) sees, but I don't know how to forward my packets through eth1 when it's available...

Thanks to you !

K.

Here a schematic if it can be more clear with it.

The simple way was set the 1Gbps path in different subnet IP,  thats all.

i.e. 192.168.1.25 / 24 if 100M path also 24.

Hello Benson,

That is what i ended to do, with Automatic configuration :

(I try to put it on 192.168.1.1 / 24 and 192.168.1.2 for the gateway but not working, mystery as the ips seem free)

And i add a local domain in /etc/hosts to avoid the crappy "192.168.2.4" in the Finder of macOS :

As it is not in the same subnet, i create an auto-mount on startup because i can't see it in "Network" tab. Don't know if there is a simple way to do that....

Thank you very much !

K.
