Brucej32
Hello all, My current server has 4 drives all connected via the motherboard's SATA ports (1x Parity 3tb, 2x 3tb Data, 1x 500gb Cache SSD) and I've been wanting to move to a pci card (like this one) for expansion purposes. So my question is: Could I just buy that pci card, and then move my drives to that card and have nothing be broken? Here's my current build: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Pq9HrV CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3 GHz 8-Core Processor (Purchased For $0.00) Motherboard: Asus STRIX X370-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard (Purchased For $0.00) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: SanDisk Ultra 3D 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 970 4 GB XLR8 Video Card (Purchased For $0.00) Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case (Purchased For $0.00) Power Supply: Corsair VS 550 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $0.00) Total: $0.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-04 15:02 EDT-0400 Edited April 4, 2020 by Brucej32 Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Some RAID controlellers can still pass individual devices, but when IT mode is available it's always best to use it with Unraid. Quote Link to comment
