April 19, 20206 yr I have an older system running v. 5.0 rc11 , I've built a new system v6.8.3 My new system is still on trial but about to expire. I need to extract the registration key from my old system and insert into the new. How do I pull the registration key? Also can I have both systems running the same key for a few more days? I haven't got all my files transferred over.

April 19, 20206 yr Author My son was helping me for a little bit and he may have used it. The extension button is grey out.
April 19, 20206 yr Looking at a post you made nearly a year ago, it appears you must have plenty of license to plug in lots of drives. So, you could just setup your new server with the license you already have, using the same flash drive it is already on. Then use the Unassigned Devices plugin and just plug in the drives from the old server one at a time and copy their data that way.
April 19, 20206 yr Author ive already got two systems up and running and most of the files already transferred over. I really don't want to start over. Can I not just move the license?
April 21, 20206 yr Author I assume that the key is married to the USB drive and that's why I cant move the key. Can I do an upgrade either before or after I move the USB drive to the new computer. Then once its upgraded get it to recognize the new array that already exists in the new computer?

Then you can do a clean install of the new version on the old flash (or a new flash and transfer the key). Then assign the disks as they were, taking care to not assign any data disk to the parity slot.
