Hello i need some help with a new server build.
I have never build a server before only simple gaming machines.
But i was wondering if this setup would work

Mobo: Asus WS C246 Pro, Socket-1151

CPU: Intel Xeon E-2246G

RAM: Kingston DDR4 2666MHz 32GB ECC

Storage: 2x Samsung 970 Pro 512GB M.2

GPU: Quadro P2000

And LSI 9211-8i card.

The GPU and LSI card i have today in a old gaming computer running a i7-6700K CPU.
And to be honest i never understood the PCI express lanes on the CPU and the Chipset and was wondering if it would be enugh in the Xeon CPU and the Asus motherboard. Was also thinking to put a Intel X710-BM2 NIC and one more GPU when the time comes

Edit:

Sorry was to eager to write my question so i did not read Rajahal post before posting.

But today i have 6 harddrives to a total of 24TB where two drives is parity. But would like 12 to 15 drives in the future.
Todays "server" I only use for Plex and other file storage but would like to mess around with VM's when i get one more GPU (GTX/RTX or Radeon). Therefore i was looking at the Asus motherboard that i have linked above.

This will be OK for cache pool but you need at least one HDD in the array.

What do you intend to use this server for?

Hello and sorry, forgot to write that i today have a mix of Ironwolf and WD Red drives and i mainly use it for Plex and other file storage.
But was thinking to try some VM's when i get to it to buy a new GPU
