September 5, 200718 yr If I back up my 4.1 files from my USB key and then upgrade to the 4.2 beta, will I be able to go back to 4.1 if I have issues with 4.2? Or are there changes made to the drives/shares that would prohibit dropping down to the previous version? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm pretty new to unRAID.
September 5, 200718 yr Good question! No problem going back - you would restore these files from 4.1: bzimage bzroot syslinux.cfg The contents of 'config' directory should be backward compatible with 4.1 after you install 4.2. There will be a few extra files in there that 4.1 doesn't use, e.g., passwd, group, and smbpasswd.
