September 8, 200718 yr I have the 4 port Promise TX and just installed it in my pc. Connected a new drive to it and rebooted. The new drive does not show up under devices and does not show up in the BIOS. Do I need to copy some driver files to the flash? Not sure what I need to get it going? Do I need to enable anything in the BIOS?0 I should add that I have Pro and am just adding the 7th drive. My MB is the Asus P5PL2.
September 8, 200718 yr Do you mean the "Promise SATA300 TX4"? With the Promise controller plugged in, you should see it's bios appear on the screen just after the POST portion of the motherboard bios. There is no set up or drivers necessary. If you don't see it's bios messages, perhaps the card is dead. Perhaps try reseating it.
September 8, 200718 yr Author Well I popped the card into another slot and sure enough I can now see it. UnRaid saw the new drive and it's now in the process of clearing. Thanks!
