June 3, 20206 yr 2 of my ssds have huge numbers in smart attributes (host writes, nand write) and smart attribute reported incorrect is growing. I was told by western digital to do a low level format. I seriously doubt the necessity of that procedure as i think my ssd are near their end of life. However i was wondering if there is a difference between a low level format and a preclear for a ssd.

June 3, 20206 yr Author so it's the same as a one pass preclear. They really used the "low level format" term.
