VM Sound Card Execution Error

Hello,

 

I cannot select the host Sound Card (Intel Cannon Lake PCH cAVS (00:1f.3)) and start any VM without receiving the following error:

 

Execution error: internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2020-06-16T12:05:23.504317Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=0000:00:1f.3,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.8,addr=0x1: vfio 0000:00:1f.3: group 13 is not viable Please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver.

I looked through the forum and saw similar but not the same errors. Is there a work around for this issue?

 

I tried the xml sound card edit for my Windows Server 2016 VM as shown by spaceinvaderone Windows 10 VM YouTube video, but it did not work either.

You need to enable and play around with acs overrides in your vm manager, you cant pass through the whole iommu group. I dont know whether unraid uses mobo audio for some reason, as i never tried using it, so maybe you need to add it to the vfio-pci.ids aswell
