I have a four port nic on my server. I run a pfSense VM that is my router and I run a docker container binhex-delugevpn. I only use deluge to download files, I do not use it for my server traffic or any other traffic. When I have a download in progress before the download completes, the transfer will die down slowly, then I will lose internet. I can access the terminal for pfSense, but the GUI is non-responsive. I reboot my unRAID and that solves the problem. There is nothing new/recently changed in my setup that I know of. I tried removing the binding of the IOMMU groups for the nic to enable the vm manager and unassigned the interfaces for pfsense, but with the 4 ports of the nic unbinded the onboard ethernet again went dark when I enabled the vm manager on unraid.

When I start unRAID VM service the onboard Ethernet goes dead. I run pfSense on my unRAID server using a 4 port 1gb nic. I had a Realtek nic but it would become unresponsive so I swapped it out with an Intel I350 4 port nic. Now I can’t start the VM service running pfSense. I believe it has to do with pfsense set to auto start and the current interface assignments not matching the hardware now. Previously I changed the assignments in the console but now I can’t get that far. Could it be that my z590 motherboard onboard Ethernet is Realtek 2.5Gbe and the NIC is Intel I350 1Gbe? The docker image was filling up again, so I made changes to the extra parameters in the Plex container and it seems to have resolved my issue. This is the video on how to make those changes.

I changed the Plex container Host Path 2 to /tmp (host) /transcode (container). So far, I haven't seen the problem of high disk utilization on docker.img reoccur.

I have recurring issues with one of my drives and have swapped out drives, cables and switched SATA ports (I believe, it's been a while). Now I would like to permanently remove the drive from use. How do I shrink my array by the one drive and restore parity to the array. Currently the drive in question is unselected and shows as not installed. I have completed a read-check but the array says unprotected. When I reassign the drive to the array and it attempts to emulate, it will receive an error very shortly into the emulation process. Looking at the drive, it shows 2 GB used of 2 TB. The file viewer shows no files on the drive, I am willing to risk losing some data that might be on there to resolve this issue. Hello, my disk 11 is disabled while conducting the parity check at the beginning of the month. This is the second time since August this has happened. Both times has been disk 11. I have replaced the drive, even though it was a new drive. I also replaced the SATA cable and used another SATA port on the motherboard. At this point I am looking to remove the drive all together and shrink my array size. I have pulled a diagnostics package and attached it here. Any ideas to what could be the cause are much appreciated and as to possibly retrieving the data (2.03GB) that is on the drive if I shrink the array by removing the drive. Thank you. Luckily it did not write to the MBR of the disks and fortunately I was able to get the original build up and running. I replaced the parity disk since it kept overheating. It is doing a rebuild now, I think I am good now.

Hello, I built an unRAID system with 16 drives, the power supply failed and I have been unable to obtain an identical motherboard. I purchased a PowerEdge R510 and tried to configure all of the drives (14 total) as RAID 0 (I did not initialize the disks) and restore the system. Only the cache disk took. When I assigned the drives, they say wrong instead of missing. I am looking at three options; 1. Is there a way I can configure the H700 RAID controller so that unRAID recognizes the disks? In the RAID controller settings I built RAID 0 drives for each and named them (limited character input) how they were labeled in unRAID. 2. Can I save my current configuration, start new unRAID build on the PE R510 with the possibility of restoring my previous unRAID build if I can get another computer built? 3. Can I extract any of the data from the current unRAID build drives outside of a working unRAID array. There are photos and videos, the photos are either in apple photos database or Lightroom database. Thank you.

That did it. When I entered it into the file browser the window populated with the user shares and on the navigation menu on the left the ip address of the unRAID box popped in under network. From there I was able to map the network drive. Thanks for the assist.

On the unRAID side I have a public bridge enabled the br0. For the Windows side I installed the driver for the device manager items including the network interface. I can see the Plex Server in media devices, but the other user shares do not appear. Looking at the VM wiki support page I know that I want the public bridge that I have selected. Still I cannot see my unRAID box or any of the shares I have setup on it other than Plex. On my Mac I can see the NAS drive that holds all of my user shares when I open it up.

I have just installed Windows 10 VM on my unRAID system. In the network portion of the File Explorer I am unable to see any of my unRAID user shares. According to the tutorial I have created a user data share to store any data created on the Windows 10 VM on the array instead of on the VM. I cannot map the drive though because I cannot access it on the network. When I click browse only the Windows VM (Desktop) appears. Thank you.

Ok, I think I figured what the problem was. I swapped out the vitro driver from the v. 102 to v113 and I did not go back and change where it was looking in the System Settings VM Manager. Ofcourse because I had removed the version 102 it would give me an error. I have gone in and updated the system settings to look for the version 113 and the installation is in progress now. Sorry for wasting everyone's time for the past hour. Thanks.

I obtained the windows iso from the microsoft website. The steps I went through were different from the video like I was not prompted for a Home or Pro version. Instead I am able to choose that once I begin the Windows install.

Hello, when proceeding to install Windows 10 on my newly created VM in the Windows Setup Where do you want to install Windows? There is no option of drive. The options available below are to refresh or load driver. The caution warning at the bottom reads, "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver." In my eyes the VM is in good working order. I have assigned 3 CPUs, 2GB memory and 25GB Hard Drive space. The Windows 10 setup is functioning so I do not know what the cause of the problem is. Thanks! I did go back later and click on the VNC link and it popped up with the window actively showing me the Windows 10 install screen.

Hello, I have just created a VM for Windows 10 install using the provided videos on the Lime Technology website. After I click on the create VM button the Virtual Machines window refreshes and has the Windows icon with a green play symbol indicating the VM is running. I click on the symbol, select VNC Remote and a grey screen with no VNC pops up. Can someone assist with why this occurs and how to remedy it? I have included the diagnostic file in case it is needed. Thanks. I disabled the Time Machine backups and deleted the ones from the share. I will consider my options and maybe use an external. The unRAID box was more for my media and other data anyways. I was using the Time Machine AFP functionality because it was available. I will mark this one as solved.
