I was getting pissed at unraid 4.6, my hardware and it weren't getting along... so I upgraded to 5beta2..

 

so far it's been great... + my transfer speeds have gone up 3MB/Sec ... No idea how...?

I wouldn't expect transfer performance to be any different in -beta2 since it's using essentially the same kernel and other subsystems as 4.6.  However -beta3 has everything updated, so there may be transfer improvements, but I haven't measured that yet - hopefully it's not worse  :P
