Adaptec ASR-71605 drives not showing up after a reboot.

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an Adaptec ASR-71605 in my Unraid server. If I restart the server then the card seems to not initialise the drives. If I shut it down completely then boot it up everything works as expected.

This has me a bit stumped at the moment, anyone got any ideas where to look for ways to fix this behaviour?

Thanks

Simon

Please post diags after both a restart and a cold start.

The controller is not being detected on reboots, so it's a hardware issue, look for a board BIOS update or try a different slot/controller if available.

I had a suspicion that that was what was going on, i haven't had much time to work on the system for a while so haven't tried moving things around internally yet.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on asus z97 deluxe
shifting the card did not help
did you solve the problem?

Heya.

It took me a while to get round to trying it, but for me moving the card worked a treat. At a guess the card ideally wants to be on a CPU native PCIE bus not a chipset bus, does this sound plausible?

Sorry for not replying earlier but work and other home stuff has been keeping me away from all but the essentials of looking after home network bits..

@paweljan you tried both the CPU connected slots (the x8 slots NOT the x4 chipset slot) ??

@Simonwhitlock so it ONLY worked in a PCIE slot connected to CPU and definitely NOT in a chipset-connected slot? I dont know what mobo you have to check slots. I'm interested as I am considering this card but would want it in a chipset-connected slot
