July 4, 20206 yr Hi, I'm having some issues with my 5700xt. I've been trying to update the GPU drivers, I get to the first screen then the VM locks up. I've checked the logs and it has these lines, 2020-07-04T20:19:15.321825Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Unable to power on device, stuck in D3 2020-07-04T20:19:15.551449Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Unable to power on device, stuck in D3 Does anyone know why this is happening? cobra-diagnostics-20200704-2144.zip
July 4, 20206 yr Author If I try and uninstall the current one to install an older one it locks up with the same error.
July 4, 20206 yr Very strange problem. I don't know Why. With amd graphics it's better to choose q35 but in this case i don't know Envoyé de mon HD1913 en utilisant Tapatalk
July 6, 20206 yr Author I figured this out, it was Corsair Icue software causing the "VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR" BSOD. Once I uninstalled it the GPU driver install went fine.
July 30, 20205 yr @sonic_reaction - I got the same problem, but with an nvidia card. How do you get (or find) the error message "VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR" or anything else so I'm able to search for clues or solutions.. Sadly I dont get any feedback on my my thread - so I dont even have a clue where to start for a solution.
July 30, 20205 yr Author I found that corsair icue was causing the blue screens on windows. I think the d3 power log was due to the navi reset bug with my 5700xt. I eventually gave up on it and sold it and bought a 2070 super which is a lot more stable now and I've had no issues. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
July 30, 20205 yr I had a VEGA56 and sold it. Bought a new 2060 Super to get a reliable VM ... sadly still not reliable ;( The main thing driving me crazy is, that sometimes it works - and then "just out of nowhere" nothing is working anymore. And I dont made any changes. Just shutdown/start the VM and play some games... very frustrating. Anyway - thanks for your feedback.
July 30, 20205 yr Author Did you completely remove the AMD drivers? I booted to safe mode used display driver uninstaller to remove it then installed the newest nvidia drivers. Might be worth you trying this? Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
