Parity disabled, SSD cache unmountable no filesystem, docker containers disappeared

Recommended Posts

I'm new to Unraid but have gone ahead and bought a license as I've been totally seduced by what it can do. Have been slowly adding files to a share and dabbling with some Dockers (Minecraft, pihole, OwnCloud) and VMs.

I can't work out what is going wrong with the machine but it's been screwing up lately with the Docker image seemingly randomly corrupting itself.  That's been fine as I've been able to create a new Docker image and not lost any of the containers with data.  However, a few weeks ago the Docker Containers (Minecraft etc) all just plain disappeared. Not a clue what happened.  It was a  pain in the arse because we lost my son's whole Minecraft world he'd spent much of Lockdown creating with his pals.  Hugely frustrating not just because we lost data but because there's no clear explanation why things are messing up on the Docker Image/Container front.

Move forward to today.  I've just got back from being away for 5 days in which Unraid has been running.  Unable to login via browser and can't get any Command Prompt when directly hooking up a monitor/keyboard/mouse.  Was hoping to perform a shutdown using the CLI.  Unfortunately I had to hard power down the machine and reboot.  I expected the machine to go through a parity to check but to my horror the Parity Drive is showing as disabled and the cache drive is showing as unmountable with no file system.  What I can't tell is what is wrong with the machine and how to fix it?

Not sure if it's a hardware or something else.  Is there anyway to check HDD, SSD health?  Memtest appears to be fine. Just 4 drives for a 350W power supply so I assume that's fine.  Drives do seem to register warm but I can't understand why this would make the SSD and Parity HDD go haywire.

If anyone can offer any advice has to how I can get this Unraid back to working properly I'd be very grateful.  :) 🙏
