September 30, 20205 yr Greetings Last night I noticed an update of unraid was available (don't remember the version tho) so I installed it and when done the system asked to reboot. The reboot never worked so after a while (like 30 minutes) I checked on my server and this message was on screen: "no default or ui configuration directive found" Since it was a unraid update, no change were made on the BIOS of course but I checked anyway and only the unraid USB drive appear in the boot sequence and every config were the same as before the incident. I checked on a couple of post for this message and some think it's a corrupted usb drive but I checked it on my Windows machine and I can access the content without problem. It's just not bootable anymore. I honestly don't know where to look and what to do from there. I was in the process of learning unraid and configuring it for the first time so even if I spent weeks trying all kind of stuff on it, I didn't take time to make a backup drive so I'd realy like to save it or at least save the config to use it on another drive. Any advice? Thanks
September 30, 20205 yr Community Expert Put Flash in PC and let it checkdisk. While there make a backup. Try again. If that doesn't work, prepare Flash as new install then copy config folder from your backup.
October 1, 20205 yr Author Performed a chkdsk and seems like the syslinux folder had something wrong so I backed up the content of the drive and using flash creator I prepared it again as suggested. Was a bit freaking out because the message disappeared but I ended up in BIOS at every boot attempt. Turned out I forgot to remove the - at the end of the EUFI folder. Everything is now working fine. Thanks you for your help
