September 19, 200718 yr I am rebuilding a drive under 4.2 Beta 4 and nothing about the rebuild is being written to the syslog file. I checked and syslog is running. The last entry was when it scanned user shares after I booted up. Can anyone confirm this is an issue? I know that parity check messages were being written. I don't want to bounce syslog while it is working on the rebuild but I will afterwards.
September 21, 200718 yr Author UPDATE: It wrote at the end of the parity check after the rebuild. But that was it. No restart of syslog was needed. It seems to just be the rebuild that is not writing any status messages whatsoever.
September 21, 200718 yr Nothing has changed regarding parity sync/rebuild logging. When sync/check/rebuild starts, you get three syslog messages, and when it ends you get another. Were you expecting something more?
September 21, 200718 yr Author It did not log at the start then and only at the end. Maybe it was a one time thing.
