DS Apps alternative

Featured Replies

Hey Guys

Im currently running a Synology NAS and im very familiar with IT however my family is not. I want to create a new Enviroment with Unraid. My Firewall is very limited and the standard Ports are open. I currently use the DS apps like (DS-Photo, DS-Music, DS-File) to access my NAS from Remote. What good alternatives are there on Unraid? Should be easy to understand without a big IT Know-How. I read about Plex offering this. My Question is is it accessable with Ports open 80, 443? I had not to open any ports for my synology nas. Or do you use other apps then Plesk?

Cheers

Plex I believe accomplishes this (Not sure about the music though).

You really shouldn't be opening 80 / 443 directly to the server.  Plex you open up 32400.

Don't understand. Blocking incoming ports are the purpose of firewall. You definitely don't want to allow most ports especially 80,443.

Use the built-in WireGuard VPN if you want remote access to your server.
