Slippin' Jimmy
Hey, I'm about to replace my SSD with a larger capacity. I have a samsung evo and i'm upgrading to a larger evo, and i've noticed the issue that the new 6.9 will fix, It writes a lot more than it should be doing. Do I wait until the 6.9 release, risk the beta 30 of 6.9 or is there a manual way of setting the partition format to 1mb beforehand that 6.9 does to fix the issue? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
New partition alignment is just one of the changes in -beta30 to help with the write amplification issue, not the only one, and not the one that makes the most difference, using space_cache=v2 with btrfs is what makes the most different, and you can do that now, or go with the beta, it's very stable for most.
