leohnaran
I had an unraid box running for a while a long time ago. Thinking of starting to use it again, but before I buy hard drives (salvaged old hard drives for another PC) I want to confirm hardware is still up to snuff for my usage. I want to run Plex, SABNZBD, Sick(beard or rage), and CouchPotato. Hardware that is in box and worked fine before. CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 260 @ 3200MHz Memory: 2 GB ( can't tell the speed of the memory from looking at the stick) Motherboard: nVideo NF-MCP61 And previously I had 4 2TB drives in it and a smaller drive, I think that was a cache drive but has been a while. I would be upping the size of the raid drive and changing cache to probably SSD. Will this hardware still work? Or do I need to just start from scratch? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Squid
It'll definitely work as a pure NAS. But, if you're using Plex to transcode for remote users, that CPU may not be up to snuff. 2GB is going to be however really pushing it once you add the apps in. IMO the functional minimum is 4GB, with 8GB recommended. Quote Link to comment
