Slork
Hello, I want to downgrade from a dual parity to a single parity, and use the left over parity drive to replace a bad data drive. What are the best steps to go about this? I was thinking: 1. Unassign parity 2 drive 2. Rebuild data 3. Assign old parity drive to bad data drive slot. 4. Rebuild data Is this correct? Do I need to preclear the old parity drive before using it to replace the bad data drive? If so, how do I go about doing that? Thanks! Quote Link to comment

Rebuild data This step doesn't exist, just start the array with parity2 unassigned so Unraid can "forget" it, then stop array and you can use it to replace the disable disk, good idea to at least check SMART for all disks before getting rid of it though.
