Dell T7600 Boot from USB when external HDD is attached

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i have the following problem.
I moved from an HP Microserver to an Dell T7600 with two Xeons and two GPU's.

i set the BIOS to UEFI boot an booted the first time very quick from Unraid-USB-Stick and could start the system again.
So thanks for these simple solution for moving to new hardware.

I have an external HDD where some rsync Backups point to.
In the Microserver it was not the Problem if i rebooted.
But if i leave the HDD atached and reboot on the new System he says that there is no boot device found.

I played a little around with the BIOS - enabled/disabled AHCI, USB Ports, etc. but nothing helped.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

thanks in advance

Chris
