September 24, 200718 yr I'm currently testing out hardware to use with unRAID and i've gotten my motherboard to boot with the basic version but i have noticed that the old system only has 2 SATA ports. I need a cheap SATA card... Soundsl like unRAID supports the "Silicon Image SIL 3114" chip which this board has. Can anyone confirm this? Or are there any sugestions for any other 4 port board for less than 20 bucks? http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16815280003

September 25, 200718 yr Thanks for replying. I have also added it to the wiki to denote its proven compatibility. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page Thanks, Bill
September 26, 200718 yr I love the picture of the box "High Speed" but it's only 1.5 Oh well. Great price for a nice card that apparently works. And if you have a 3 in 4 or other backplane that has it's own indicator lights, you won't miss the drive activity light connectors of the Promise card. GREAT FIND!
March 6, 201016 yr A few notes... I just installed a MASSCOOL XWT-RC040. I tried flashing the bios to the non-raid version, but the updflash.exe was unable to detect the flash memory type. The controller seems to work just fine in 4.5.1 using the RAID Bios though. I did nothing in the XWT-RC040's RAID bios settings, so I think the drives are being passed through as JBOD's to unRAID. You may want to attach some notes to the hardware compatibility list that this particular Sil3114 card does not require the non-RAID version of the bios and that you cannot update the bios with this card. Thank you, Kevin
