December 6, 20205 yr I currently have a 500GB SSD for caching in my unRAID server, and I have to upgrade to an 1TB caching setup using two 1TB SSDs in mirror configuration. Once the setup is complete, the 500GB will be removed from the server. This will be the first time upgrading the cache, so I'm not sure about the process. So, the easiest I way thinking I can do this is to assign a second drive (using 1TB SSD) to the current cache setup, once the mirror completes, I was planning to remove the 500GB drive, and then add the second 1TB SSD to complete the upgrade. Is this a possible solution? When I assigning a new drive, does unraid automatically copy the data over to the new drive? Do I need to things differently? If so, how? I'll make sure to execute the mover before doing this process. I do have on VM and three docker utilities running on the server. Edited December 6, 20205 yr by mhweb

December 8, 20205 yr Author @Constructor I used those instructions you shared and it didn't migratated cache data to the new drive. How can I revert the changes? I have already tried restoring the old cache drive, but it says that I'll erase the data, and I need that cache data. Thanks,

December 8, 20205 yr Author @constructor I ended up mounting the old SSD, and using the command terminal, I copied the contents to the new cache drive. stopped and restarted the array and the vms and docker applications seem to be working. I'm currently running a parity check, just in case. I'm really hoping this was a suitable solution to the problem.

I keep calling you Advanced Member because you keep calling me Constructor. Also, in order to actually notify someone you have to start typing the @ symbol then continue to type enough of the name to get some matches to popup then you have to actually select from the matches. Just typing the name won't work, you have to make a selection from the matches, and @Constructor doesn't match any user. Like this: @mhweb
December 8, 20205 yr Author @trurl Sounds good, somehow my brain was expecting the user name above the profile image and not in the header of the post. I didn't realize it until you pointed it out.
