January 31, 201115 yr Take a look here for some info on user share security. By default, disk shares (ie \\tower\disk1 etc) cannot be secured on a per user basis, but you can get around that by using an smb-extra.conf. For example, I have the following in my /boot/config/smb-extra.conf to secure the flash share: [flash] path = /boot valid users = spectrum read only = No create mask = 0777 directory mask = 0777 map archive = No map hidden = No map system = No browseable = No browsable = No This gives me access to \\tower\flash but keeps others out The same could be done with the disk1..n shares as well. Just be sure if you use this method that you disable the respective shares in the web-ui. Don't want to try sharing things out twice.

Look HERE Look at the Export settings, and then scroll down and look at the "Exceptions". Wish I could give you some peronal advice, but I use custom Samba shares and not user shares. For Disk Shares .... You can't really do it directly. But you can set up some custom samba shares and have fine control. I see that Spectrum responded while I was typing this, so will not repeat. If you have any questions about setting up these types of shares, post back.
