  • Unraid 6.9.0 Beta22 Time Machine Share

I was kind of disappointed to learn that Unraid has remove AFP as a share option. I am testing 6.9 now and I am wondering if there are any options with SMB to allow my Time Machine devices to backup to. I saw some promising options with the config file for SMB but they were wiped out when I restarted the array.

Time machine via SMB has been included with Unraid for a few releases now.

To enable you must first Stop array and go to Settings/SMB and enable Enhanced macOS interoperability.

Now Start array and select/create a share to be used for Time Machine.  Under SMB Security Settings/Export you should see option to set up for Time Machine.
