• [v6.9-b1] pool convert options are based on slots, not actual devices

    Posted this here since it's the version being developed but note that this bug is also present on v6.8.3.

     

    Like mentioned in the title the very nice pool direct convert options on the GUI are based on the number of pool slots instead of the actual number of devices, so if you have a 2 pool device (or even just 1 device) but have 4 pool slots selected you'll have the option to convert to raid5/6/10, you can then press balance but it will fail to convert to any invalid option.

    This was a deliberate choice. It will fail indeed when not all slots are populated.

     

    Let me rethink this ...

    Solved version = The issue has been resolved in the indicated release version.

     

    Closed = Feedback or opinion better posted on our forum for discussion. Also for reports we cannot reproduce or need more information. In this case just add a comment and we will review it again.

     

    Retest = Please retest in latest release.


    Priority Definitions

     

    Minor = Something not working correctly.

     

    Urgent = Server crash, data loss, or other showstopper.

     

    Annoyance = Doesn't affect functionality but should be fixed.

     

    Other = Announcement or other non-issue.
