Was testing this plugin and by chance I picked-up a USB drive that had an old version of unRAID (used for preclear on a separate motherboard) to my surprise the device that was showing up in the unassigned GUI was the actual flash drive used to boot the server .
Not a big deal after I figured out why this happens
I attached a picture that shows the sda in the unattached device GUI.
On an other note I was wondering if it would be possible for this plugin to handle a USB DVD drive, I would love to be able to use the MakeMKV docker with a USB DVD drive.
Thank you!

Selecting devices to passtrough the VM by device ID ..... sounds like a feature request for next releases.
-
-
You will need a dedicated graphics card.
LT website has a pretty good support page for VM setup among other things.

Getting this error in the log but the server seems to be working OK.
We are now refreshing packages from apt repositorys, this *may* take a while Update: ERROR Jan 21 21:09:42 Tower syslog-ng[60]: syslog-ng starting up; version='3.5.3'
Thanks for the update!

Interesting news from the Kodi site here
We had an interesting conversation with a company who is more than just a hardware vendor that reached out to discuss passthrough issues with an unreleased beta of their software in Kodi, and we thought the conversation might go a little rocky based on past experience with them, but ended up one of the best and most enlightening meetings we had the entire CES. Hopefully more to come from that! -
Yes, the SSD cache drive is using one of the ASM SATA ports.
-
Don't worry the number will go down. If it did not already.
-
Upgrade went fine. For some reason the openelec did not start.
The image had to be downloaded again for the VM to start.
-
Seems to be all fine.
A nicety would be a reboot button on the plugins page when one is required. Rolls in the switching to main tab, stopping the array and the reboot confirm & proceed tasks if you so wished.
Install "Dynamix System Buttons" plugin and you will have a reboot button on every page of the GUI

If you already have an static ip address allocated by the router based on your old motherboard MAC you will have to update the settings in the router for the new motherboard MAC.
-
Yes, it's possible. Main function should work no problem. Some plugins like the dynamix temp are motherboard dependant. Your IP address if fixed based on MAC need to get updated.

It's always a good thing to have exposure at CES.
As of now I heard soon only from the forum users. So I "amuse" it will be double soon in LT timing
Not a complain just trying to the fill the time between now and soon
Now to go back and fit the second parity drive in my main server and attach a bigger display (current one is a 6.5" VGA) in anticipation of the new GUI.

Whenever the control page is revisited it will update itself to the latest state.
While running a build the statement above works for the same browser only. If you load the control page on a different browser or computer it will not show the latest state.

From the zoneminder wiki you should try the IP cameras. I personally tried the Foscams. 8903 and 8921 both work Ok but the control part on the 8921 is somehow sketchy on my setup.
Other than that I'm still experimenting, still learning how to email alerts or saving the events on the array, setting up filters, etc.

Is there a table that shows server size and the number and size of drives required to equal that server size. I understand, for example, that for a 8TB server size, there are several different combinations of drive sizes vs drive number but, I figured there would be some sort of matrix.

As it turns out it was the ASMedia ASM1061 controller on my motherboard creating the issue, as soon as I moved the DVD on a different SATA port server booted OK.
Thanks for the help.
-
Seems like the issue resides on my hardware and not unRiad version.
Need more investigating into maybe the powers supply I'm using for my server.
The DVD on SATA port works OK with 6.0.1 on a different server but when the same 6.0.1 USB stick is being used on my main server it still locks at the same screen.
-
I'll add a pre-6.1.3 version to my list for tonight
-
onboard, did try different cables even different DVD units, will try a Blu-ray unit tonight and maybe a controller board.
-

Does the DVD/Blu-ray drive have to be attached to an USB port or can it be connected internally to the SATA ports?

At beta 4 a remote bug was mentioned: http://openelec.tv/news/22-releases/168-beta-openelec-6-0-beta-4-released doesn't seem to be fixed yet.

When connected to the SATA port the DVD drive works OK with the docker but then my laziness kicked in... what if I don't have to go down in the basement every time I want to rip a DVD but instead have a USB DVD drive on the first floor connected to the server trough a USB/RJ45 cable/extender.
As I'm writing I realize that my request is not necessary related to this plugin, oh well still learning...
