  1. Made no difference for me - using Catalina macOS - not sure if that matters. Edit: I had a typo in my smb-settings.conf file, after fixing it the shares seem to be working OK but the TimeMachine share is not working with macOS
  2. Issue is still present on the 6.10 RC-4
  3. Check the post below it looks like rc2 and MacOS are not playing nice 😒
  4. I have a similar issue with Catalina, samba is on and off. Reverted back to rc1 and everything seems to be OK. In my case the connection to the Tower samba shares will drop on a random basis. Not sure how to reproduce this issue.
  5. Here is my script I did not put too much time into it since it did the job from the first time. Line 4 and 5 define the source and the destination. The backup (rsync) and notification bits are in the ACTION block #!/bin/bash PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin source="/mnt/user/Personal/" destination="/mnt/disks/My_Book_3Tb/" ## Available variables: # AVAIL : available space # USED : used space # SIZE : partition size # SERIAL : disk serial number # ACTION : if mounting, ADD; if unmounting, UNMOUNT; if unmounted, REMOVE; if error, ERROR_MOUNT, ERROR_UNMOUNT # MOUNTPOINT : where the partition is mounted # FSTYPE : partition filesystem # LABEL : partition label # DEVICE : partition device, e.g /dev/sda1 # OWNER : "udev" if executed by UDEV, otherwise "user" # PROG_NAME : program name of this script # LOGFILE : log file for this script case $ACTION in 'ADD' ) # do your stuff here /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "Unassigned Devices" -d "Device mounted" -i "normal" date >/var/log/My_Book_3Tb_Backup.log /usr/bin/rsync -avrtH --delete $source $destination >>/var/log/My_Book_3Tb_Backup.log /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "My_Book_3Tb" -d "Backup to My_Book_3Tb finished see /var/log/My_Book_3Tb_Backup.log for details" -i "normal" # This will refresh the UD webpage when the script is finished. /usr/local/sbin/rc.unassigned refresh $DEVICE ;; 'UNMOUNT' ) # do your stuff here /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "Unassigned Devices" -d "Device unmounting" -i "normal" ;; 'REMOVE' ) # do your stuff here /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "Unassigned Devices" -d "Device unmounted" -i "normal" ;; 'ERROR_MOUNT' ) # do your stuff here /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "Unassigned Devices" -d "Error mounting device" -i "alert" ;; 'ERROR_UNMOUNT' ) # do your stuff here /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/notify -e "Unraid Server Notice" -s "Unassigned Devices" -d "Error unmounting device" -i "alert" ;; esac
  6. The unassigned devices plugin has a very nice option to run a script when external drive is plugged in. Use the default script button to start with a default script and build from there, I have something similar build but not with encryption.
  7. I did two array stop/start and no issues, next I did a reboot and no more parity check started. Not sure why.
  8. Pre-shutdown diagnostics files attached.
  9. Thanks JorgeB but the change to 100s did not do the trick.
  10. This seems to be a recurring issue for me - several months before I had this issue and for some time it seemed to go away now it's back again. I did take the flash drive and run a checkdisk with no errors, I even registered a new flash drive and the problem is still there. Attaching the diagnostics file. Not sure why this message below was generated, I did a shutdown using the icons from the dashboard Mar 15 09:29:49 Tower emhttpd: unclean shutdown detected
  11. Got the following error: cat: rom: Input/output eror Did powerdown the server stopped docker and had all VM's set to not autostart. The Tools/System Devices does have the Video and Audio checked. GPU is not primary.
  12. Memtest86 did not yield any errors, moved C2 to G2, will keep monitoring.
  13. From the log it seems that I have a memory issue Sep 11 16:37:25 Tower kernel: EDAC MC0: 1 CE memory scrubbing error on CPU_SrcID#0_Ha#0_Chan#2_DIMM#0 or CPU_SrcID#0_Ha#0_Chan#2_DIMM#1 (channel:2 page:0xac351d offset:0x0 grain:32 syndrome:0x0 - area:DRAM err_code:0008:00c2 socket:0 ha:0 channel_mask:4 rank:255) It looks like it is CPU1 Channel 2 DIMM #0 or #1, I do have RAM in those two location and will double check them one by one but just wanted to see if there is something else that I might have missed. Thanks!
  14. I did abandon this container some time ago since I did not need it anymore. It was used to backup my xbmc sql database but since I switched to plex I never used it again. I will ask squid to remove it from the list.
  15. adding my vote for this feature

    Squid is 50!

    Happy birthday Squid and saarg!!!
  17. Love: the community Want: server to server backup/sync
  18. Hmm, I did not perform a checkdisk yet but I did a array stop/start and then a reboot followed by another stop/start array and no more parity checks started. Will run a checkdisk next and keep an eye on it.
  19. Running rc5 and for the second time after an array stop/start the system starts a parity check.
  21. This workaround does not seem to work on my Windows VM running on 6.8.0-rc1 - anybody else having this issue or is it just me? I ended up passing a whole USB controller and everything is back up and running.
  22. Within hours of the video being posted one of my HDD's failed and of course I only have a larger than parity spare handy. Thanks and "thanks" 😉 Ed.
  23. Thanks, luckily I had a one week old backup for the data stored on the cache drive - up and running now.
