  1. I hate dedicating entire computers to support basic functions, so I've finally managed to order fresh hardware and consolidate two systems (unRAID and MAME) into one. Just pulled the trigger on: SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SL7-F-O Intel Xeon E3-1231V3 Crucial 16GB I already have: 4x 2TB WD Red 4x 4TB WD Enterprise 2x 2TB WD Green - Decided to kill these drives and save the slots for future expansion. 1x 2TB WD generic - same as above 1x 120GB Samsung SSD replacing with a WD VelociRaptor drive (10K, 300GB) And that's going into my Neo Geo 4-slot "Big Red" arcade cabinet. I have dockers running for media acquisition, processing, and playback through plex. then I'll be setting up KVM with a windows xp image to support MAME playback. I'll be passing through USB for my keyboard/controls emulator, pci video with a hardware based vga scanline generator, and pci for audio. Will post pics once I get the new hardware in place and operational.
  2. okie doke. I'll wait for the other 3 to finish and then troubleshoot from there. thanks!
  3. correct - I can't start the array.. and yet I can start a pre-clear, but sdc just isn't performing the same as the other (identical) drives..
  4. Trying to determine if I've got a bad drive or not... I spun up a spare mobo to preclear 4 new drives using a free copy of unraid 6, the unassigned devices plugin, and the preclear disks plugin. no need to start the array, i just don't have free sata ports on my production hardware. I know there's a 3 device limit with that license, but does it apply only to the array or any sort of functions? I've got 3 devices trucking along at ~140MB/s in the pre-read, but the 4th is barely moving, if at all. trying to determine if it's bad hardware or just the free license limitation, without prematurely ending the other 3 pre-clears.
  5. Selling a mobo/cpu/RAM combo. It's been great for running 8 drives (with an extra pci card), plugins, and dockers, but I've decided to integrate my NAS and Arcade functions into the same hardware, with the arcade pc as a guest VM. So, selling to fund some new supermicro/xeon gear. mobo: Gigabyte M61PM-S2 CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition RAM: 6GB $125 shipped and pp'd in the CONUS.
  6. working great and even have it successfully pointed to a my local musicbrainz docker. thanks again!
  7. aha! now we're cooking with gas..
  8. i have not, but am currently downloading and installing the update you just posted to the repository. thanks for that!
  9. understood, however that variable does not appear on the configuration page.
  10. Btw, that wasn't a slight against you. Life gets busy and the enjoyment of creating these things probably fades away as you get stuck in maintenance mode with the constantly changing(and add-on breaking) unRAID updates. There's never any shortage of options for sab+, plex, or sickbeard... But beets is a fringe app and one that's best used local to the stored files, so I want a certain amount of self-sufficiency when the inevitable happens to you, or any other dev that might pick up the mantle
  11. Overbyrn was the only guy to create a beets plug in and it is broken in the latest unRAID TV versions. He has pretty much abandoned plugin writing and support. Smdion has created the only beets docker and, based on comments from him in other threads, seems to be headed down the same path as overbyrn. I'm 100% a user and have no competency in either plugins or docker creation, so I'm mostly trying to future proof my installation a bit so that when there IS an important update I'm not left stranded. Again.
  12. now, how to update beets in the docker? It's at 1.3.10 and current rev is 1.3.13..
  13. solved, via the beets-users google groups folk.. you need to run as interactive. docker exec -i -t beets beet -v import /opt/downloads/music/ you dont need the -v before import unless you want the onscreen data to be verbose
  14. works great until Beets requires user input (query choices, <90% accuracy check, etc) at which point the dockerexec craps out and dumps you back to the command prompt.
  15. thanks! (not intuitive at all for docker n00bs)
  16. Ok, so I've got the docker installed but how in the world do I execute any of the commands from my terminal? the web interface appears useless in this regard.
  17. Serviio seems to have broken after upgrading to RC2, though not sure how. The plugin installs and is able to be managed in the settings page, but cannot be found anywhere on the network. Uninstalled/re-installed with no change, so I'm wondering if there are any OS dependencies that were removed which might have an effect (such as python?).
  18. everything works fine after a clean install of the plugins. even took a stab at serviio again and got the remote console working on Windows.
  19. experienced this as well with Btsync and Transmission. Downgrade of Btsync actually killed network access to unraid. So I'm in the process of wiping those two plugins entirely, rebooting, and reinstalling.
  20. FYI - bittorrent sync released an application update. it was identified and installed without issue via the plugin.
  21. thanks Phaze, will test it tonight. It may suck (does it really?) being a pay model now, but it comes with added features that are most welcome. The lack of ability to selectively sync files is what kept me from fully adopting BTsync in the past. I have a 128GB ssd in my macbook pro and 1.5TB of music, 300GB of books and comics, etc. I'd like to access those, but don't have the space to force a sync - version 2.0 now enables full sharing of everything on my NAS without needing to worry about laptop space. worth the cost for me.
  22. FYI on the btsync plugin.. initial install is fine, but when you go to install the actual application via settings it craps out saying.. No copy found on USB.
