  1. What happens: This is not limited to this install of UnRAID or this version of UnRAID. If I change any network information other than turning off the default bonding and bridging configuration it loses all network communications. With the SFP+ card in the system mac becomes that of all network links. There is red text saying " Not Configured " Some info: It has the motherboard ethernet that works. And a Mellanox Connectx-3 that does not work when the motherboard internet is unplugged. What I've tried: Booting with the Mellanox Connectx-3 connected and the motherboard disconnected, hoping that it would pull an IP (it didn't). I tried manually specifying what the IP address should be and other settings (it stopped communicating). I tried a lot of arps and pings and other ways to get into it but to no avail. Solution: In the terminal find out the status of your NICs. If the desired one is down, type the following. ip link ip link set eth1 up dhcpcd eth1 Replace 'eth1' with whatever your desired NIC is called.
  2. I firmly believe Reconstruct Write was a big proponent in why my last install of UnRAID went terribly and became a huge headache. Perhaps it's fine with smaller disks but with 12TB disks the parity check would fail and the system was prone to locking up and needing a hard reset. It took no less than a week of my life and then some to whittle down the diagnosis and reinstall.
  3. In relation to the top post on this thread. I would like to see this replaced with something as follows if what follows isn't already implemented. When I spin up up my array, I would like for the disks too spin up individually or in groups of 2 or 3 as I don't want to risk the 12V rail sagging in voltage. Just a thought.
  4. I tried doing it manually and everything in-between. I spent every waking hour trying to get it to work for two days across two of my machines. I plugged it into my brothers PC and the creation tool worked first time, plugged it into my server and it booted.
  5. I mean that I worked with neither. I tried at least 5 times on each and left the first one to run over night.
  6. On a USB 2.0 port the Flash Creator tool says 'Stopped at download complete, checksum ok' on a 3.0 port it get's stuck at 30% when extracting files.
  7. Brilliant, will do. So I guess it's time I reset.
  8. This should be relatively straight forward. LSS I wish to reset UnRAID. From what I've gathered all I need the Pro.key file from the flash share after use the flash creator on the usb stick. And I can begin anew. My array is encrypted. The drives should just pop up like I clicked 'new config'. And all I have to do is put in my passphrase right?
  9. I stopped the array and formatted it to XFS twice last night. It said success but came up as unmountable. However, I just clicked the format button again with the array running and it worked, formatted it to BTRFS. Thanks for the help, it probably looks like PEBCAC.
  10. I put it back to how it was and it's running again. By webterminal I just mean using the terminal from another machine through a browser. It comes up as <ipaddress>/webterminal/. I thought everyone called it that. Now however I am getting "Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout" on the cache disk. I have tried formatting it multiple times. Even when it says 'success' it comes up as un-mountable
  11. I changed the SMB info here with the extras option. Now the server won't boot properly. I'm able to get a webterminal but that's it. I would like to know how to undo this. I'm kinda at my wits end with this, I've rebooted almost 20 times just today. Any help is welcome
