  1. Awesome, thanks for the share; seems to have fixed it!
  2. That works to access the Unraid UI, however I'm unable to connect to my files via Windows Explorer using either server name or IP. Any tips on this as I've searched the forum and not really found a resolution. Thanks!
  3. Just a follow-up and close out this issue, turns out the PCIe USB card I was using is, for some reason, not compatible with Unraid and so would not work regardless of what I tried. I found THIS post by @CHBMB and, thanks to his research and testing of the various PCIe USB cards, I ended up ordering the Inateck KT5001. I just installed it, went through the process to use it as a passthrough device, and the VM booted up just fine with success in read/write/delete/etc from a USB stick and another USB drive.
  4. @bastl No, there are 3 devices (Logitech Unifying Receiver, Logitech Webcam, Razer Keyboard) that are plugged into the main motherboard USB plugs in the back and the Unraid stick plugged into one of the 4 plugs at the top of the case (Fractal Design Define R5 case). The Integrated Technology Express ITE device, from what I've been able to piece together from a few forums, is an RGB controller. Regardless, I have the same issue with the same error whether I have it checked to pass-through or not.

  6. @bastl I figured that's what you were checking; I read/watch all the tutorial videos very very carefully It gets stuck on the TianoCore screen before the spinny-whirly Windows doo-hickey starts going (yes, official term I've coined for it). Not sure if the full log file will help but I've attached just in case Win10VM_log.txt

  8. Good day Unraid community, I've successfully gotten through Part 1 and most of Part 2 of @SpaceInvaderOne's "best way to install and setup a windows 10 vm" videos. I also followed the video to pass-through my recently purchased/installed PCIe USB3 expansion card, and, as you can see below, it's available as one of the Other PCI Devices. My issue occurs when I tick it and try to start my VM, it freezes getting stuck on the BIOS boot screen. I checked the logs before I selected this device and after and the only difference in the boot sequence is the following error: qemu-system-x86_64: vfio_err_notifier_handler(0000:04:00.0) Unrecoverable error detected. Please collect any data possible and then kill the guest I searched for the vfio_err_notifier_handler in this forum, however did not see any posts with resolutions other than the card not being able to be passed through. To be clear, this device's sole purpose will be a dedicated USB controller pass-through for my Wind10 VM so the Unraid OS stick is not plugged into it. Can someone please: 1) let me know if I've done something wrong? or 2) if I've done nothing wrong in following the directions but this card just won't work, recommend a card that would work? Thanks!
  9. Right, I remember that now. I've been building this server and going through a lot of installations. I guess the Nvidia plugin is for my Plex transcoding; thanks!
  10. I think I figured out why I was running an old version of the OS. I'm using the Unraid Nvidia plugin for a Win10 VM and it only has Unraid Nvidia version 6.6.7. I expect that's what was messing things up for me.
  11. Well that did it... Unraid Community +1 yet again... thanks!
  12. Unassigned Devices doesn't appear to be there in the community Apps as per the directions I find online. Since it's a plugin, should there not be a URL to install the plugin? Am I missing something here? (obviously I am hence I need your patient help)
  13. Good day everyone, I'm having some trouble accessing my unassigned devices and through searching through the web and various forum topic, I'm under the impression that I need to direct to a path "/mnt/disks". As can be seen in the attached screenshot, "disks" is not showing up as an option and so I'm reaching out for some help from this group. If there is any other config info you'd like me to post in here, I'm pretty green at this so please give me clear instructions on how to get log files or others to post if requested. Thanks!
  14. Good day all, I've recently (in the last 2 months or so) been introduced the wonderful world of Unraid... seriously, where have you been all my life??!! After watching a lot of Youtube videos, buying a new case (Fractal Design Define R5), and doing some hard drive planning, I'm almost ready to buy the license and get on with this build which will be primarily a Windows 10 VM with a Plex server "behind the scenes". I do have one question though regarding hard drives specifically the WD Purple drives. A few years ago I bought a 4TB WD Purple with the sole purpose of setting up a home surveillance system. Not to get into the details, the project never went ahead and I have a brand new drive waiting to be used. For the purposes of my Unraid server, I'll be putting in the following drives: 4TB WD Red (brand new) 4TB WD Purple (brand new) 3TB WD Red (RMA from WD, brand new) 500GB NVMe Samsung 970 EVO (primary drive for Windows 10 VM) 250GB Samsung 860 EVO (cache drive) I've looked through the forums here to see if this question was asked/answered and did not find a solid answer. I've seen that people said that any hard drive would work with Unraid and really the limitations will be read/write capabilities of non-NAS specific drives. My question is: Should I use the WD Purple drive as my parity drive or leave it as part of the array?
